Web hosts’ CPU and database performance, see About for more info

Other sites with useful information 2007-09-25

It is quite hard to find useful information about performance (except for uptime, but this blogg is about dynamic performance - CPU / PHP / Database etc). I will try to collect some useful links here.

Of course, if someone has more information about the site I mention, please comment. I moderate comments and will not publish anything against your will.

Duncan Reily: The problem with shared web hosts

This was one of my inspiration sources when I started this site! I have just sent him a mail about this.

Darren Rowse: The blogger that got suspended

Darren writes about the blogger that got suspended - because his blog

The case mentioned here is also what Duncan above wrote about, but you may want to read the advices here too. The kind of information I suggest to collect and present here at aWebHostGuide need to be complemented with especially that kind of info that Darren gives us here.

HostJury

It looks to me like this site can have some good information, but unfortunately I am beginning to doubt it. I have tried to contact the site owner and asked for some cooperation, but the response so far has been that my posts have been deleted. Maybe that is because I link here, but I have also e-mailed him and I am waiting for a response. Let’s see!

HostingFu

I do not know them, but I really like the name. You need some very special abilities to be able to find a good host. They do have some information about the evolvement in the web hosting industry. However they talk about googling to find information. That was what I did before. I got to my current host (not very good host) that way - and I believe I am very used to search information (and I am hardly a computer/IT novice either).

And like many other sites with web hosts information they seem to live on advertising. Hard choice of course, but as a consumer how do you know whome to trust?
